Rattling the (Un)Caged
In a noisy world of “cage free” eggs and “free range” chickens, Handsome Brook Farm, a company successfully selling their product in Whole Foods and around the U.S., sought to clarify to consumers exactly why “pasture raised” is fields away from the other confusing commercial labels. Despite exponential growth in sales, the brand had not yet established significant consumer awareness. Our objective was to create a brand platform that communicated the brand’s values in a manner that resonated with consumers, and connected them to the brilliant and kindhearted owners, Betsy and Brian Babcock, who authentically live what they sell.
Hatching the Brand
The brand we created brought to life the reality of a good egg. We birthed a brand mascot, a free-loving, friendly, maternal hen that sings the praises of Handsome Brook Farm living, with lush pastures, bugs for lunch, natural perches, radiant sun, and a breeze on her back. She gives consumers the taste of freedom, where hearty hens lay healthy eggs, and a pasture raised egg is the best choice for you and your family.
