Practical Pointers
Dare yourself to do something uncomfortable. You’ll probably find out that nothing bad will happen - and it will become much easier the next time.
When you become a leader, you don’t have to be perfect on Day One; you just need to take that first step. Trust that you’ll get better from there.
Storytelling is a crucial element in getting your employees and customers as excited as you are. Your kids want a bedtime story, not a bedtime statistic; the same is true for people who want to learn about what you do.
The best way to overcome nervousness is preparation. When you feel well-prepared, not only will you do a better job, but you will discover that the nervousness dissipates and turns into excitement.
Don’t overload and overwhelm your audience. You may have a lot to share, but you want your listeners to take action; if you offer too much information during your speech, they won’t know where to begin. Instead, limit yourself to three simple and actionable points.
